How to use the digital card

To process your health claim with Android phone:

1. Ensure NFC is turned on in your phone settings (this lets your phone tap the terminal)

2. Log in to the AIA Health App

3. Tap the digital card on the Home Screen

4. Hold your device near the reader

If you have multiple members on your card, you can get the Patient ID by scrolling down on the digital card screen.

Requires: Android 8.1 or later

Sit tight – we're working on getting the digital member card ready for Apple devices. Soon, you’ll be able to tap and claim on your iPhone or Apple Watch.

In the meantime, please continue using your physical member card or submitting a claim manually through the AIA Health app.

Primary policyholders can set up and use their digital member card on the AIA Health app. Currently, this feature is only available on Android devices.

Once available on Apple devices, you can use your digital member card at participating healthcare providers that have a compatible tap-and-claim terminal. Look for the contactless payment symbol at the counter or check with your provider before your appointment.

Your Android digital member card can be used at participating healthcare providers with a compatible NFC-enabled terminal. As with iPhone, look for the contactless symbol at the counter or check with your provider ahead of your visit. Note that availability may vary by provider and terminal type.

You can tap and claim on eligible medical services, such as General Practitioner consultations, at participating providers. What you’re covered for will depend on your level of cover. Check your benefits and limits in the AIA Health app to see what’s included in your policy.

Yes, your provider needs to have a compatible terminal to accept tap-and-claim. We recommend checking with your provider before your appointment if you’re unsure. You can still submit claims manually through the app if your provider isn’t set up for tap-and-claim.

Yes. You can continue to use your physical member card if you wish.

If you don’t have your phone with you, you can submit a claim manually through the AIA Health app when you’re back online, or contact our team for assistance. Learn more.

Yes. Your digital member card uses the same security as contactless payments on your device, including Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN. Your card details are never shared directly with the terminal.

If you move to a new device, simply download the AIA Health app, log in with your existing details, and follow the prompts to set up your digital member card again.
