Couple – for two people, the Policyholder and their partner
Family – the Policyholder, partner and any of their Child Dependants
Single parent family – the Policyholder and any of their Child Dependants

Child dependents are children aged up to 25 years old.

Your date of birth is used to determine the Australian Government Rebate and eligibility for any Under 30s Age-based Discount.

Lifetime Health Cover

Lifetime Health Cover (LHC) is a government initiative that encourages people to purchase and maintain private patient hospital cover earlier in life.

If you have not taken out and maintained private patient hospital cover from the year you turned 31, you will pay a 2% LHC loading on top of your premium for every year you are aged over 30, if you decide to take out hospital cover later in life.

We’re checking to see whether you need to pay the LHC loading. This applies to Hospital cover only. Extras only policies do not exempt you from the LHC loading.
